Chapter 1, The Art of Music Licensing, provides expert advise (a) to music copyright owners (such as songwriters and music publishers) on how to maximize the value of their song copyrights and (b) to potential licensees of music (such as film & TV producers, advertising agencies, and online services on how to best get the permission (i.e., "clear" the rights they need) to use copyrighted music in their producitons. This chapter has been updated in the 4th Edition, but still provides a useful overview of the Art of Music Licensing.
